Thanks for posting this. I had never heard of perimenopause before, but it explains a lot.

are you a young thang?
I think because we live in a youth-absorbed, thin-at-all-costs society that foists a lot of ridiculousness on how women view what is healthy and normal.

I didn't know this. Great information to have. Thank you.

WooHoo! As I am reading this I am eating a muffin! Nice to know that I should just relax on the old dieting! I am turning 40 this month, and have seen a slight gain in weight year after year. I used to be such a skinny thing. Now not so much!
amen sistah! It is nice to know our bodies are dong what they are supposed to rather than seeing them as wrong.
Reply to Bitterlinguist: I guess 'young' is a relative term - I'm 37, a vegetarian and a serious yoga practitioner so it's been a puzzle to me why I'm gaining weight in weird ways that I never have before. This odd pattern of weight gain has been going on for about two years.
it ain't ma belly, iz ma butt! ; )

hey... went to lunch w/ a bunch of friends last week. turns out they've all been nappin' for years. who knew?! I was shocked. "Napping?! Who said that was allowed?!" They have convinced me that it is the best kept secret and an absolute MUST.

I started giving into the 3:00 pm wall I hit and decided to lay myself down for few z's. It's a luxury to be taken advantage of when you work at home.

It helps.
